Portland and Multnomah Falls

I’ve been to Portland and driven by the falls many, many times but I decided to actually see the sites on this Manta trip.  After my presentation in Downtown Portland, I started at Tugboat Brewery who poured me their recommendation…from another brewery.  I was a great little pub, though.

I moved on to Deschutes Brewery where I tried these beers. (There were others, but they are not listed on the website:

• The Dissident – Too sour but interesting
• RED WHEAT
• WHISKEY COLEMAN – Wow this is a beer for Whiskey drinkers
• A Strong Man cask ale (I think) that was amzing

As I headed home, a comedian with a backup band intrigued me and I wandered in to the Chuck N Buck show http://houseofsound.org/programs/123-the-chuck-n-buck-show which was interesting.

I stumbled onto the Voodoo Donuts at about 1:00 am and had a very good fritter.  http://voodoodoughnut.com/voodoo_doughnut_one.html

I went to Rogue Distillery and Public House the next day and had some more great beer.

• I considered the Double Chocolate Stout  for my dessert float and chickened out at the end even though it was the first chocolate stout I actually liked. The Rogue Root Beer was perfect for my float.
• The Juniper Pale Ale was interesting
• The Rogue Irish Lager was fantastic
• The was American Amber Ale very good as well
• There was also a Freedom hops that was tasty even though I don’t like hops.
