FOMCON 2025

Our tiki fraternity has a convention every five years, so we all went to Florida to Celebrate its 20 year history.

Southwest wanted us to fly through Houston, so we decided to spend the night with some friends. We visited Meow Wolf Radio Tave and an interactive video game space before our flight.

The convention was held at a beachside resort where there were a lot of rituals and shenanigans with our FOMily:

Ft. Lauderdale is the home of a recently restored tiki palace, the Mai Kai Restaurant, which is the real reason the fraternity chose this location. We started here Thursday night as soon as we arrived and were here every day of the trip.

The Mai Kai is famous for itss bowl dances. So I decided to get one because they wouldn’t let a woman give a Lina a bowl dance.

We all went back to the Mai Kai together on Saturday:

The Mai Kai is also famous for their Polynesian dinner shows. When we all went there together on Saturday, the Mai Kai had its second best night in sales.

men also perfrom bowl danced for women

I thought I was ordering a single serving lava cake. This is what I got instead!

All of the people in this video are from our fraternity after the show ended. There are a lot more FOMily in the room that aren’t in this video.

Then the local fraternity chapter put a home bar tour early Sunday morning:

Our friend Luru is an amazing artist and created all of this art for the homes on the tour
