Places We've Been

Kauai November 13-20, 2019

Last year or so, Chris got started hacking credit cards for points. (That means that we sign up for the cards that offer the most travel and reward points) This last trip took us to Kauai for a week. Our United flights were free and our baggage would’ve been free too if I hadn’t forgotten […]

San Francisco, November 11-13, 2019

On our way to Kauai we stopped in San Francisco to visit a few tiki bars. (It sounds silly to say that, but Hawaii is not known for its tiki bars.) We arrived in the early evening and took a Lyft to our Oakland hotel. After checking in we visited three tiki bars. The next

Puerto Rico October 1-9, 2019

I believe this is the first trip we went on using credit card points. Costa Rica was originally on our list, but we did not have enough points. So Puerto Rico it is! I’m so glad we came. Puerto Rico is kind of like America’s basement; as in you don’t often think of it and

We Went to Houston in August Ya’ll

Chris went there for work. He always teases me for not coming to the hot places in summer and the cold places in winter. So I met his challenge this time. The two things we saw on this trip were the beer can house and Smither Park. I love both of these places.

Lake George Area

We had some downtime during Ohana Luau at the Lake so we decided to explore more of the surrounding area. We got in the car on Sunday and drove. No destination in mind. Found a mountain peak overlooking the lake and this park. It was a leisurely walk, not really a hike through a tall

Rambler Ranch 2019

We decided to take advantage of a great camping spot at Rambler Ranch. George, Shawn, Brad, Pam, Chris Carter, Teresa, Lina and I brought our trailers for the weekend and Paul, Cedric, and Tami stopped by on Saturday afternoon for the tour. We didn’t take any pictures of the tour, but it was amazing again!

Palm Springs December 2018

We’ve been talking about making a month long visit to Palm Springs for over a year now; how to do it, where to stay, where to stay with all of the dogs, etc. This year we finally got all the logistics together and were able to do it! We are celebrating Tina’s first drink in

Hand Carved Cave near Ojo Caliente, New Mexico

Artist Ra Paulette carved 14 of these unique and privately owned caves by hand for over 25 year as part of his self-prescribed therapy after returning from serving in the Vietnam War. We booked our tour through Originnewmexico.com well in advance of our tour. I thought the space was magical!
